Event planning has one immovable date and a long tail of work that has to land before it. This template is for conference organisers, field marketers and internal comms teams who need to show a committee that the run-up is under control.
A calendar-style timeline works better than a bare task list because everything is measured backwards from event day. Seeing the registration window open while sponsor outreach is still running tells you whether you have enough runway to sell tickets. Overlapping lanes for venue, content, sponsorship and marketing keep each workstream legible instead of collapsing into one queue.
In Tymepath, event day is just a task with the same start and end date, flagged as a milestone so it renders as a marker rather than a bar. Everything else is a range you type into the table beside the slide, and the timeline updates as you type. Shift the whole plan by editing the dates that moved; you never touch the graphic itself. When the committee asks for the plan in the board deck, export a PPTX slide, or send a share link that always reflects the latest version.
